What is Sober Living?
Sober living is a place where residents can begin the next phase of their recovery journey, the reintegration phase. In sober Living they have the opportunity to grow in a safe home, around people that have faced similar struggles, and are experiencing many of the same fears.
The Alamo House that focuses on structure, accountability and community. Sober Living is a crucial step to a recovering addicts long term success and sobriety.
How long is someone allowed to stay?
There is no minimum or maximum requirement for length of stay. Though statistics show that residents who stay for a minimum of 6 months have a much higher long term success rate.
The average stay at Alamo house is 6 months, however we do have residents who choose to stay multiple years.
Can Residents have visitors?
Yes. Visitors are allowed in the communal living areas of the home. Visitors are not allowed in the resident bedrooms.
Visitation hours are:
Sunday – Thursday 8am – 10pm
Friday – Saturday 8am – 12am
Visitation is not allowed on Sunday before 12pm
What Should someone bring?
Clothing and shoes for two weeks, personal towels, laundry detergent.
Personal Hygiene
Enough food for 1 week
( Refrigerator and Dry food space is limited )
